Thanksgiving Service

Hey guys!  On thanksgiving this year, I helped serve thanksgiving dinner to people.  I did it at the senior center here in town, but we served it to anyone who wanted to come, not just the seniors.  I loved the feeling after I served someone, the people were friendly and they were thankful for us helping them.  It was really cool because there were actually so many people helping, they almost didn't need us!  Here is a picture we snapped at the end.  The girl with the brown hair next to me was helping as well :D

Gratitude Day 15

I am thankful for fire alarms & fire fighters.  They save so many people and work very very hard.  I haven't had an incident with this but I know many people have.  They save lives, they are amazing examples.  I am thankful for fire alarms because they will notify me.  Then you can call them over before something horrible happens(But if there is a fire something horrible has already happened.  You get what I mean right?)!

I just realized we are half way through our 30 days!!

30 Days Of Gratitude

Hello!  Getting into the spirit of Thanksgiving... I have decided I am going to do the 30 days of gratitude challenge!  I had to do this for a school project last year and it was so great!  I learned a lot about gratitude.  So here is how it works, I will post a picture of something I am grateful for everyday.  On thanksgiving I will post 5 things.  I challenge you guys to do it with me!  I had a great time doing it last year.  The first few times are easy to find something, but as you get farther in you will find it is harder to think of things.  For an added challenge, I will be doing something nice for someone everyday for 30 days.  I can do it for the same person multiple times or for different people, The choice is yours! Hope you enjoy!

Crispy Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • I found these really yummy egg-less cookies and thought I would share the recipe!  At first we didn't think they would be good but we loved them.  They have sort of a toffee like after taste.  I sometimes like to add oats and/or coconut.
  • Ingredients:
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 1 2/3 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup oats (optional)
  • 1 cup coconut (optional)
Preheat your oven to 350˚.  Put the Earth Balance, sugars and vanilla in a bowl.  Using a mixer, beat until light and creamy, about 2 minutes on medium speed.  Add the water and mix until blended.  In a separate bowl mix the flours, salt and baking powder.  Turn the speed of your mixer to the lowest setting and add the flour mixture.  Mix until the flour is incorporated.  Stir in the chocolate chips.  Place scoops of cookie dough on a cookie sheet and bake for 13 minutes.  Allow to cool a few minutes on the cookie sheet before removing to a cooling rack.
*recipe adapted from Becky Bakes (I changed a few small things :D)
